1. Overview
This website, satohkamu.com, is operated by Satohkamu LLP ("Satohkamu," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the website and to any purchase you make through it.
By visiting the site or buying from us, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they reference, including our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Shipping Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Eligibility
Anyone is welcome to browse our site and enjoy our products. To place an order, you must be able to enter into a binding agreement where you live. If you can't, a parent or guardian must place the order or give permission and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Our products
Our matcha is a natural agricultural product. Colour, aroma, and flavour can vary slightly between harvests and batches, and product photos are for illustration.
Our products are food items. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and nothing on this site is medical advice.
Matcha contains caffeine. If you are pregnant, nursing, sensitive to caffeine, or have a medical condition, please check with your doctor before consuming it.
Follow the storage directions on the packaging. We aren't responsible for changes in quality caused by improper storage after delivery.
4. Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) by default. When you select a different market or region, prices are shown in that market's local currency, and you'll be charged in the currency displayed at checkout. Prices in other currencies may be set separately or converted from CAD, so they may not match an exact exchange-rate conversion. Your bank or card issuer may charge its own currency conversion or foreign transaction fees, which we don't control.
Prices may change without notice. Applicable taxes, duties where collected, and shipping charges are shown at checkout.
We try to keep product and pricing information accurate. If we find an error in price, description, or availability, we may correct it and cancel any affected order, even after you've placed it. If your payment was already processed, we'll refund it in full.
Refunds are issued in the currency and to the payment method used for the original purchase. Because exchange rates change, the refunded amount may differ from the original charge once your bank converts it.
Payments are processed securely by our payment providers. We don't store your full card details.
5. Orders
Your order is an offer to buy. We may accept, limit, or cancel any order at our discretion, for example when a product is out of stock, an order looks fraudulent, or quantities exceed what's reasonable for personal use. If we cancel an order after you've been charged, we'll refund you.
6. Shipping, duties, and delivery
Shipping options, timelines, and rates are described in our Shipping Policy and at checkout. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees.
For orders shipped outside Canada, you are responsible for any import duties, taxes, customs fees, or brokerage charges set by your country, unless we state otherwise at checkout. Orders refused because of these charges may not be eligible for a refund.
Risk of loss passes to you once the carrier delivers your order to the shipping address you provided. Please make sure your address is correct.
7. Returns and refunds
Because our products are food, we can only accept returns as described in our Refund Policy. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us at contact@satohkamu.com within [7] days of delivery and include photos so we can make it right.
8. Accounts
If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been used without permission.
9. Reviews and submissions
If you submit a review, comment, photo, or other content, you confirm it's your own, it's accurate, and it doesn't break any law or anyone else's rights. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with our business, including on our site and social media.
We may remove any content at our discretion.
10. Intellectual property
All content on this site belongs to Satohkamu or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. This includes text, photos, videos, graphics, logos, and the Satohkamu name.
You may not copy, reproduce, or use any of it for commercial purposes without our written permission.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the site to:
- break any law;
- infringe anyone's rights;
- send spam or malicious code;
- scrape or collect data without permission;
- interfere with the site's security or operation;
- place fraudulent orders.
12. Third-party services and links
Our store runs on Shopify and uses third-party providers for payments, shipping, and other services. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We aren't responsible for their content or practices.
13. Disclaimer
The site and our products are provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, whether express or implied. This includes implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
We don't guarantee the site will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Satohkamu and its partners and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or our products.
Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Satohkamu harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the site.

How we collect and use your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date will reflect the latest version. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted means you accept them. The Terms in effect when you place an order apply to that order.
18. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of British Columbia, unless the consumer protection laws where you live give you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
