Ryuouen, established in 1875 in Uji, Kyoto, is one of Japan's most dedicated small-batch matcha producers. With a team of just nine people, every step is handled with extraordinary care — from selecting premium tencha leaves to hand-grinding matcha at a rate of 40 grams per hour using traditional stone mills. Ryuouen sells exclusively in-store in Japan, making their matcha genuinely rare outside of Japan.
Miyabi no Shiro is an exceptionally versatile ceremonial matcha from Ryuouen — elegant, well-balanced, and gentle enough to enjoy in multiple ways. Its smooth, creamy character makes it one of the most approachable koicha-grade matchas available.
Aroma: Delicate vegetal notes with a soft floral lift
Taste: Perfectly balanced sweetness and umami, smooth and creamy with no bitterness or astringency
🍵 Recommended for: Koicha (thick tea), usucha (thin tea), coconut water latte
✨ Best for: Those exploring koicha for the first time, or anyone who loves a soft, elegant ceremonial matcha
📦 Origin: Uji, Kyoto, Japan
