Horii Shichimeien is a historic tea producer established in the Meiji era in Uji, Kyoto. Their tea garden — Okunoyama — has been cultivated for over 600 years since the Muromachi period, making them one of the few remaining producers who grow, process, and sell their own tea entirely from scratch. With roots tracing back to the 16th century, Horii Shichimeien is dedicated to preserving the genuine, multilayered flavors of authentic Uji tea.
Todou Mukashi is a mid-range ceremonial matcha from Horii Shichimeien, crafted primarily from the prestigious Kyoto cultivar Samidori. Fresh, vegetal, and deeply umami-forward — a quintessential expression of Uji matcha character.

🍵 Recommended for: Usucha (thin tea), matcha latte
